Bio

Serena Woodward is a Palm Beach–based photographer specializing in society, event, wedding, and editorial photography. A local to Palm Beach, she brings a deep understanding of the community, its traditions, and its social landscape—an essential part of photographing people and events with discretion, ease, and trust.

Serena’s work has been published in national and regional publications. She has photographed society and cultural events in partnership with Patrick McMullan and Getty Images, and her work reflects a documentary sensibility paired with a polished, editorial finish.

Serena’s approach to photography reflects a long-standing respect for the craft. She began studying photography in 2009 and, while living in New York City, assisted photographers including Victoria Will, Nick Mele, and Aydin Arjomand—learning the discipline across commercial, portrait, and event photography. During this period, she also worked in media and technology at Google in New York. Ultimately, she chose to step away from corporate media and commit fully to photography as her profession.

Serena completed coursework at the International Center of Photography from 2022–2024 and holds a degree in Business Administration from Villanova University, a background that informs her organized, professional approach to every assignment.

Photography is also a second-generation practice. Serena is the daughter of documentary photographer Orator Woodward, whose work from the 1950s through the 1980s chronicled artists, writers, and cultural figures of his era. In addition to her own practice, Serena actively manages and archives her father’s extensive photographic body of work—digitizing, preserving, and contextualizing a historically significant archive. This work deeply shapes her appreciation for legacy, access, and images that endure beyond the moment.

Clients work with Serena for her calm presence, editorial eye, and ability to document meaningful moments with clarity, care, and intention.
